I'm a Boomer. I feel like we were taught to not worry about the future, live for today, we'll be young forever. So many of us, and that includes me, didn't ever plan on getting to the point where we couldn't earn a living, where we would need to rely on the government (screw the Man was our motto). My husband and I will be working probably till we die. Part of me doesn't mind that, but part of me wishes we had been better prepared.
Makes a lot of sense to allow 15 million illegals enter the country over the last couple of years when we’re 30 trillion in the red. And then we’re going to screw everyone who has been paying into Medicare and social security in 15 years.
There's a simple cure for all those pesky old folks who just won't die: release a novel virus that kills old people. No, I'm not suggesting that this was the plan all along, I'm not that paranoid. But it happened in the nursing homes and nary a peep. They found some ladies who say that Cuomo got handsy, the Atty General (a joke) got involved and he got the boot. This is how they deal with their own when the truth starts to rear its ugly head. Just get rid of the guy, the system must be preserved.
Now that the beta version has been tried and it worked, it's time for version 2.0.
That, plus import scads of younger people, mostly men, who will fight your stupid wars and STFU.
This is wrong but I'm not changing it, I'm noting what I got wrong: "But it happened in the nursing homes and nary a peep." It didn't just happen - it was a policy which wasn't uncovered until an FoIA order revealed it. I really don't have the means to track all the details down but I remember reading that Newsom (give him that) and De Santos stopped doing this at the beginning.
When I started saving for retirement, I was always under the impression that social security would not be available. I just hope what we’ve saved is enough. I know plenty of my friends who think they will rely on their social security and I feel badly for them, for what they may be facing. Too many people are not willing to sacrifice now for something having something later, they think “it will all work out” and are fine living paycheck to paycheck. It’s really sad.

What if one illegal sues the government saying, "Hey, I pay taxes too?" And wins. Then what?
I'm afraid you're not wrong.

It's all so easy.
