Throught crime, any comment, a simple question, the worng tone of voice, even looking "weirdly" at a person might be offensive and result in a act of violence against this person, physical violence if possible or social exclusion, losing the job, being vilified on social media, etc.... nearly a half-million dollars per year this non profit MS org. president!, follow the money, I doubt this comes from only the individual contributors.

Bravo! I completely agree with your opinion of the MS Society. I would like to see the breakdown of all these societies and charities and the actual percentage that goes to the charity to actually help people. I'm sure the MS Society is not the only one, but shining the full light of day on them surely should make them stand up and be ashamed of how they spend the dollars that are donated to them.

On another note, being that your work is in gerontology and care homes - are you aware of any studies of care home residents where they have measured the residents vitamin d levels and actually supplemented them to an adequate level. I asked for this to be done for my father who resides in a personal care home and the care coordinator basically refused, stating they have no way to do this without the resident leaving the facility (not really practical in my father's situation) and could only offer giving him a once daily vitamin d supplement (which from what I understand, is unlikely to do much good as the recommended dosages are very low). My father NEVER leaves the care home, lives in a cold province in Canada and does not go outside - even in summer (and if he did, he would be covered head to toe in clothing. It seems that adequate vitamin d supplementation should be a standard practice in residential care, but trying to get this implemented is so frustrating. Any info you have would be greatly appreciated.
