The risk of transmitting COVID outdoors is basically infinitesmal. Yet the risk of continuing to marginalize, isolate, confuse and keep our older adults and the disabled lonely and depressed is ongoing with complete and utter nonsense like this.
Please call this out. From a risk reduction standpoint, it’s absurd. For the vulnerable this NPR reporter and infographic-manufacturer claims to stand up for - it’s cruel.
I agree 100% as a mom with a teenager with asthma, I have had people be so nasty to us even when I explained that even five minutes in a mask required him to use his inhaler, they told me he should stay home so for the good portion of a year and a half he stayed in the car rather than have people glare at him. I also had a sweet friend fired from her retail job because she'd been raped and the masks triggered panic attacks. They had no sympathy for her. It's just sick.
